I’m a graduate student, studying journalism, at the University of Florida, while practicing in the field as well. I’m currently studying health journalism while learning online and audiovisual reporting techniques. My research has been on how the media affects how parents make decisions about their children’s health, in particular mental health and antidepressants.
Besides studying journalism, I also practice it. I write a health column on the University of Florida’s campus for the Gainesville Sun, as well as freelance for several Florida magazines. I’m also currently a reporter for the online publication Florida Health News. Though I’m young, I enjoy delivering and devouring news, and I relish a chance to work in journalism as it transfers into the future, becoming more digital and more visual.
